ARCHIVE ENTRY: LORE
UBISOFT GARY

OVERVIEW

Ubisoft Gary was a division of Ubisoft founded in 1999, following what Ubisoft CEO "Yves Guillemot" described as a "Night of fucking around and debauchery and shit". When he awoke the next day, he was directly in their offices in Gary, Indiana, and had to spend the whole day navigating the Labyrinthian Architecture of the Gary Offices. During the several hour long endeavor, Yves underwent a spiritual, emotional, physical, and metaphysical journey, and emerged the other side of that building a changed man. This prompted him to give a thousand and a half dollars to Microsoft Gary, who Yves assumed was the man in charge, and gave him one mission: Give the exact experience Yves had just went through to the gamers of the world. In reality, Gary was a completely unrelated bystander just looking for the bathroom. But, when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade! And for Gary, his lemonade was the budding industry of Horse games.

Once Yves had finally made it back to his humble abode in France (ew), he wept for 12 days and 12 nights. He's never looked back since.

LEGACY

The division's purpose was not clear at the time of founding, and to most, still isn't quite clear to this day. Without a sense of purpose, Gary spent their first few months making horse games - which made one man in Detroit very happy. However, growing dissatisfied with their horse games, Gary, and his good chum Nick yearned for ambition, and would work together for several years to chip away at their passion projects, only for them to fall flat upon release due to unforseen circumstances. Ever since, the division's been radio silent, leaving a trail of failure and mistakes in it's wake. Wubheads and Horse-lovers across the globe eagerly await their return to this day.

WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH THAT HORSE???

One might be led to believe that the horse is in the Ubisoft Gary logo due to their affinity for Horse Games, but, strangle, this isn't the case. The horse in the Ubisoft Gary logo was there long before Ubisoft Gary made a name for themselves in the horse industry. Even stranger, when questioned about their logo, different answers are given from the Ubisoft Gary team every time. This is a mystery that's stumped Ubisoft Gary fans for decades now. Take a look for yourself.

"Well, It's... Uh, I don't know, I guess they thought it was kind of funny. I didn't really have a say in the logo's design. What, Horse games?
-Yves Guillemot, CEO of Ubisoft.

"The horse has always been there. It's the foundation - It's what gives me purpose, my loyal steed charging into the dark of tomorrow, unsure of what may come but ready nonetheless."
-Microsoft Gary, unprompted.

"I always just thought the horse was there to symbolize how fast the games were, or something. I dunno, never played any of them."
-Janitor Richard Quantez from Atlanta Georgia, who asked to remain anonymous.

"I'm not sure what you're talking about. There is no horse in the logo."
-Mark Tonic, Lead Head of Design and "FUN"ctionability
